Lemon Myrtle oil is richer in citral essential oils than any other lemon/citrus source eg. Lemongrass, Lemon peel, Lemon Verbena, Lemon Scented Gum etc. This is because  Lemon Myrtle essential oil is not only higher in citral content, ie 90-95% but also it contains a superior array or mixture of different types of citrals and trace citrals, eg a number of iso-citrals, neral, geranial and more are present in Lemon Myrtle.

Often the other sources of citral have very few citrals and if they do have the minor citrals they are in absolute trace quantaties compared to Lemon Myrtle.

The rich oil is totally sourced from a unique rainforest plant, the Lemon Myrtle tree. The plant is naturally found nowhere else in the world but Australia. The plant is farmed in plantations around Byron Bay, northern New South Wales, Australia. The oil is extracted by the clean, natural method of water steam distillation of the harvested leaf.
