Lemon Myrtle Distillation


Lemon Myrtle essential oil is extracted from the leaves and young branchlets of plantation grown Lemon Myrtle trees by steam distillation.

Leaves are freshly harvested and distilled immediately to ensure the highest quality oil.

Harvested leaves are placed into large stainless steel stills, steam is introduced, Lemon Myrtle’s volatile elements (essential oil) evaporates from the leaf with the steam. The condensation process turns this vapour mix into liquid (water) and essential oil.

The essential oil floats on top of the water and is separated off. Regular harvesting ensures fresh supplies of our essential oil all year round.

Wild Lemon Myrtle trees have never been harvested by Refreshed or any of the farmers that supply Refreshed.
