Greg Trevena
Founding Director
Byron Bay resident
Greg Trevena is the
founder and managing
director of Refreshed
Lemon Myrtle.
Greg has been working
with native plants and bush foods since
1992. After completing his Bachelor of
Business, he discovered ABC’s Bush Tucker
Man. The program sparked his fascination
with native plants, sustainable agriculture
and revegetation.
Determined to explore the wide array of
native plants that produce food, medicine
and timber, Greg ended up in the subtropical
rainforest of northern New South Wales.
In 1998, under the ‘Rainforest Foods’
label Greg produced rainforest fruit jams
and marmalades.
Deciding to keep life simple, Greg chose
what he believed was the best plant – Lemon
Myrtle – and focused his business energies
on it. He is now fully dedicated to producing
products from a plant that few people had
heard of just 15 years ago.
David Dane
Director
Essential oil specialist
David Dane has been
working with essential oils
since 1973, when he was
trained in herbal medicine
manufacture. In 1975 he
and his wife Melanie started Nature Spirit
Herbal Products in the hills behind Byron Bay
where they grew herbs and made herbal extracts, tinctures and ointments, developing
the company into a leader in its field.
In the mid 1980s, just prior to the boom in
the essential oil business, David started
Sunspirit Aromatherapy, which became Australia's foremost aromatherapy company
dominating the market through the 1990s
and collecting numerous small business
awards along the way.
David's passionate belief in the healing
powers of one particular essential oil,
Lavender, lead to the foundation of Eureka!
Oils in 1991, where he is credited for
establishing natural Lavender oil as a
mainstream commodity. Eureka! Oils grew
to be the biggest seller of natural Lavender
oil in the world.
Following the sale of both businesses, David
has joined Refreshed Lemon Myrtle and is
helping set the vision and direction of
Refreshed Lemon Myrtle.
